Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Performs general eye examinations and office visits as needed.
2. Develops positive optometrist-patient relationships.
3. Evaluates patients for LASIK or other refractive surgery and makes recommendations as to treatment options to the Ophthalmologist.
4. Works together with the Ophthalmologist to achieve the best possible outcome for all patients.
5. Demonstrates mastery of pre- and post-operative care for patients.
6. Executes consistent and specific medical protocol.
7. Trains patients or caregivers in techniques for managing at-home care.
8. Provides leadership, management and accountability for timely patient appointments.
9. Represents the organization within the public, medical and business community.
10. Records and maintains clinical and business data in written and/or electronic form.
11. Participation in co-management and related special projects.
12. Ability to travel to other locations for coverage in Washington frequently is a must, as well as Illinois and Texas(as needed).

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited School of Optometry.
Language Ability:
Fluency of the English language. Excellent oral and written comprehension and expression. Speech clarity and recognition. Active listening. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related medical, scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries and provide information to patients, vendors, colleagues and members of the business community. Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
Math Ability:
Ability to use mathematical methods or formulas for related medical and scientific measurements and calculations. Ability to calculate percentages. Ability to compile, tabulate, or verify information or data.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Ability to use logic. Ability to identify information by categorizing, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite, Email, Calendar and Scheduling Software, Medical Software, Internet, Data Entry
Certificates and Licenses:
Licensed to practice Optometry in Washington State prior to beginning employment. Excellent standing with all licensure authorities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position may supervise and/or assist employees relative to specific tasks or projects, but has no direct reports.
